2017 RCC Charity - ALS Foundation
Each year the Rochester Corvette Club sponsors a charitable organization to support a worthwhile cause in our community. This year the ALS Association of Upstate New York was chosen. ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. It is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells and pathways in the brain and spinal chord. When the cells die, voluntary muscle control and movement dies with them. The mission of the ALS Association is to empower people with ALS and their families to live fuller lives, by providing them with care and support, along with supporting global research and nationwide advocacy. It is our intent as a Corvette club to raise money at a variety of club functions and raffles this year and to be able to donate a respectable contribution in support of the ALS Association mission, honoring Paul Dentinger, one of our club members, and others who have been effected by this paralyzing disease.
